An agreement which had been signed with Arab Radio and Television (ART) to encode the sports and variety channels ended with the beginning of Ramadan and another for the drama channel ends after Ramadan, meaning that the channels will no longer be encoded.
Al-Ahram advertising agency has been signed in as the sole advertising agent to the channels. Another agreement was signed regarding the implementation of the interactive services such as phone calls and SMS.
The development included not only the content and the interface of the channels but also their infrastructure, providing production with the tools needed for competitiveness. During the first stage of the project modern portable cameras, studio cameras, 10 editing units and a centre for automatic broadcasting will be on hand, and Egyptian staff will be trained to use the new technology.
Al-Sheikh said that the project stressed on benefiting from Egyptian expertise in the television sector, in a bid to attract qualified Egyptians to work on Egyptian projects instead of losing them to similar projects outside
