The Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) is preparing to launch a database for Islamist political movements, parties and groups throughout the world.
The database will include all possible related information such as the origin of a movement, its founders, history, leaders, doctrines, legal status, and influence on the political scene. It will shed light on all Islamic movements, the political and those who limit themselves to religious services.
The project was the brainchild of the late Hossam Tammam, who was a prominent researcher in the field of Islamist political movements and headed the BA Futuristic Studies Unit, and who passed away last October at the age of 40.
