Le Lac Du Caire at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilisation (NMEC) hosted on 4 November around 1,000 runners (children and adults) who took part in two races: one 5km long, and another 2km long.
The event was organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports together with a number of organisations among which was Operation Smile Egypt which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
Operation Smile Egypt is an NGO that focuses on treating Egyptian children with birth born with facial defects or other bodily defects.
Taking part in the races were some 1000 young people and children. Altogether, it was quite a cheerful event, with participants happy about all the related activities held, and calling for similar future events.
