It has become obvious that no matter how long any possible future truce in Gaza lasts, the intention of the Israeli war machine is to continue its genocidal war against Gazans till the very end, with US blessing. A ceasefire would be direly needed in order to allow into Gaza humanitarian aid for the Palestinians suffering from the atrocious Israeli blockade. Unofficial reports reveal that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has advised Israel to rush to complete its diabolical plan in Gaza as quickly as possible, without media hype. The point is that demonstrations are sweeping over the US and Europe, expressing escalating popular outrage against what can possibly be the fiercest genocidal war in modern history, waged against defenceless Palestinians. The outrage is pressuring governments to take political action against the continued preposterous situation in Gaza. No matter how the war ends, Israel stands to pay a heavy price for it over the coming years; with international pro-Palestinian sympathy and support pushing towards a two-State resolution of the conflict, and to the reconstruction of what was destroyed by this vicious war.
Today I resume my presentation of statements issued by international political and social institutions and figures that all categorically denounce Israeli atrocities against Palestinians. Some of these statements expose the roots over which the Zionist movement rests, and others denounce the blind support of some governments to the Israeli crimes against Palestinians. However, they all agree on the imperativeness of owning to the human right of the Palestinian people in a safe, stable State according to international laws and norms.
British politician, broadcaster, and writer George Galloway who has been serving as the leader of the Workers Party of Britain since 2019, and who has been a member of the British Parliament for several periods, denied on his X account on 10 November the ‘October 7 atrocities’. He posted that Hamas terrorists never committed rape, only one baby had been killed “by persons unknown” and that anyone stating the contrary is a “war criminal”. His declaration was picked by the Jerusalem Post in an article by Danielle Greyman-Kennard. “The foul allegations of rape have been dropped by the Israeli government,” Galloway said. “The forty beheaded babies have been downscaled to one dead baby, not beheaded, but killed by persons unknown. Two thirds of Israelis killed on 7 October were military personnel. The killers of the remaining third were definitely revealed to have been in part the Israeli Armed Forces themselves.”
In his Mother of All Talks (MOATS) show on 29 October, Mr Galloway said: “Benjamin Netanyahu comes from the Jabotinsky side of Zionism. There’s nothing religious about that side of Zionism, and they have never pretended otherwise. Jabotinsky was the acme of a virulent nationalist movement. He was openly modelling his movement, of which Netanyahu is the heir, on the fascist formations in Italy, Spain and even Germany. Jabotinsky spawned the likes of Menachem Bagan and Yitzhak Shamir who murdered British soldiers and civil servants in the King David Hotel, or by hanging by wire in the orange groves around Jaffa. They are the persons who murdered Count Bernadotte of Sweden, the United Nations special envoy to then Palestine. They murdered in cold blood, then Begin became Prime Minister of Israel. They murdered Lord Moyne of the British parliament. They were narrowly thwarted several times trying to murder Winston Churchill, even whilst Churchill battled with the Hitlerite hordes as the Prime Minister of Britain. A Spitfire pilot narrowly thwarted a bid to blow up the British Foreign Office. Modern day terrorism was invented by the Jabotinsky Shamir-Begin-Netanyahu side of Zionist politics.
“The one thing you do need to remember is there was nothing religious about it. Indeed, the entire Zionist project was funded by people under the leadership of Theodor Herzel who had no religion at all. Virtually every single one of them was a declared and avowed atheist. All these atheists were united on only one thing, they didn’t believe that God existed, but they believed that God promised them the land of the Palestinians, denoted Palestine on every map. Every title deed of every square inch of land was entitled Palestine. The people who lived there, whether they were Muslims, Christians or Jews were all Palestinians. You can still see now on the iron covers of the drains, the words Palestine. You could still see until recent decades post boxes marked Palestine and indeed with the King’s arms, the King’s logo upon them. It’s important contemporaneously because this is what Netanyahu, the party-going Premier of Israel said today: ‘You must remember what Amalek has done to you’, says Netanyahu. He doesn’t of course complete the quote, which I will from Samuel 15:3: ‘Now go attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them. Put to death men and women, children and infants. Suckling, the verse says, suckling infants and the cattle, sheep, camels, and donkeys.’ So there you have it: Benjamin Netanyahu, using your money and with the support of your government, is going to kill all the men, women, children, suckling infants, cattle, sheep, and donkeys in the Gaza Strip. You comfortable with that?”
A speech by Irish MP Mary Lou McDonald, leader of the opposition party, to her party Sinn Féin last 11 November: “Tonight we welcome the Palestinian Ambassador.” (Applause) “The Palestinian people have a right to their homeland. Having endured generations of dispossession, occupation, oppression, apartheid – human rights violations that should shake humanity. Tonight, hell rains on Gaza. Gaza, the graveyard of children. A child’s life taken every ten minutes. Israel claims to act in self-defence. Carpet bombing civilians, collective punishment, massacring children in their thousands is not defence (applause). These are not justifiable responses to the horrific attack by Hamas on October 7th. The world sees Israeli actions for what they are: Barbaric. Hateful. Cowardly. (Applause) This is a moment of reckoning for world leaders, for the European Union, a test of commitment to human rights, peace, democracy. We ask, where is the protection of international law for every child killed in Gaza? For every Gazan mother holding the cold body of their dead child? Israel cannot be allowed to commit atrocities with impunity.. The Irish government should take the lead and refer Israel to the International Criminal Court, and send the Israeli ambassador home. (Heated applause) When the European Commission gives carte blanche to Israel to massacre Palestinians, we say, no. Never. They do not speak for us. (Applause) The world calls for immediate ceasefire. Some of the most powerful voices come from the Jewish community calling for peace, justice, secure lives for Israelis and Palestinians. Their call emanates from the unimaginable horrors and collective trauma inflicted on their people, and in the name of humanity, they say: never again. Not to another people. (Applause) Israel must stop its slaughter in Gaza. Hamas must release all hostages. Ceasefires must be called. Only a peace process, dialogue, international law can deliver peace and Palestinian freedom.. So, tonight from Ireland, we say, ceasefire now. (Heated applause)
The 94-year-old American professor and intellectual Noam Chomsky was quoted on social media saying: “Israel uses sophisticated attack jets and naval vessels to bomb densely-crowded refugee camps, schools, apartment blocks, mosques, and slums to attack a population that has no air force, no air defense, no navy, no heavy weapons, no artillery units, no mechanised armour, no command in control, no army, and calls it a war.”
