Two Egyptian military carriers took off today from East Cairo military airbase, heading to Khartoum International Airport, carrying tons of humanitarian aid.
The aid, dispatched by the Ministry of Defence and the Egyptian Red Crescent Society includes large quantities of food and blankets. This is the second batch of humanitarian aid that has been recently airlifted from Egypt to Sudan, with the aim of alleviating the burdens off the Sudanese people.
The aid comes upon the directives of President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi to support the Sudanese people during the crisis they are facing.
For their part, the Sudanese officials expressed their appreciation of the Egyptian aid, stressing the time honoured relations between the two peoples. They said that the humanitarian aid sent by Egypt greatly contributes in strengthening relations between both countries.
