The Coptic Evangelical Organisation for Social Services (CEOSS) has won the excellence award for “Supporting Adaptation to Climate Changes to for Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises in the Agriculture Sector”. The award was granted by USAID and Finance and Banking Consultants International (FinBi) for the work done by CEOSS in the village of al-Prinssat, Matai, Minya.
The award ceremony was held at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilisation in Fustat, Old Cairo.
According to Margaret Saroufim, head of the Local Development Sector of the Coptic Evangelical Organisation: “The idea of the sector’s work is based on the experience the organisation gained from working with tens of thousands of small farmers for more than 50 years.”
In order to provide agricultural services and the support required to enhance skills, capabilities and knowledge for small farmers, CEOSS established in 2019 the “Agricultural Business Development Services Centre in the village of al-Prinssat, Matai, Minya”; converting those small farmers from individual to teamwork, and promoting the principles of agricultural investment for them.
