Egypt’s President Andel-Fattah al-Sisi has directed that, as the holy Muslim month of Ramadan sets in, the Egyptian Air Force in cooperation with its Emirati counterpart should augment their air lift of humanitarian aid to Gaza. Sorties from the Egyptian airport of al- Arish have thus become more frequent, with military aircraft carrying tons of food and medicines for dropoff on Gaza.
In parallel, Egypt is in coordinated efforts with the international alliance in Jordan for daily sorties of Egyptian military aircraft to drop off aid on northern Gaza.
Monday 11 March, the Palestinian Health Ministry announced from Gaza that medical teams operating in North Gaza have been seriously affected by the famine there. Some 2000 of their members were not able to have breakfast that day, the Ministry said, as it called upon international humanitarian aid organisations to work to supply North Gaza hospitals with food.
