A delegation representing the Coptic Orthodox Church has participated today in the ceremony held in Tahrir Square in Cairo to place the foundation stone for a memorial for those who lost their lives during the 25 January 2011 and 30 June 2013 revolutions
Deputy-General of the patriarchate Fr Sergius Sergius, and the papal secretary Fr Makary Habib represented Pope Tawadros II during the event.
The inauguration ceremony took place this morning upon an invitation from Cairo Governor, Galal Said, Prime Minister Hazem al-Beblawy placed the foundation stone and a number of cabinet members and State representatives took part.
