Last week the United Nations mission in South Sudan secured the safe exit of 12 Egyptian doctors who escaped from the shooting at the Bor Hospital. The Egyptian doctors arrived in South Sudan on 12 December as part of a mission aiming to offer medical services free of charge. Once they arrived in Bor,
they provided help for the injured and sick, working under hard conditions and lacking resources and equipment, but with only their experience and ability to fall back on. The headquarters of the United Nations mission in Sudan received about 14,000 people displaced by the events in the region.
