Minister of Immigration and Expatriate Affairs Nabila Makram is currently on a trip to the US and Canada to promote the purchase of the Beladi Dollar Certificates which were recently issued by the Central Bank of Egypt as a banking tool to support the national economy.
Together with Egypt’s Ambassador to Canada, Moataz Zahran, General Consul, Amal Salama and members of the diplomatic delegation in Canada and the US, Makram visited Bishop Eklemandos, General Bishop of Ottawa, Montreal, and Eastern Canada at the St Mark church of Montreal.
The patriotism of Egyptians living in Canada and their keenness to support their mother nation, as well as their positive participation when it came to buying the Beladi Dollar Certificates were the focus of discussion during this warm gathering.
Makram also visited the Holy Virgin church of Mississauga where she was cordially received by both clergy and congregation. The Minister stressed on the constant support of Copts for Egypt. She held an open discussion with the congregation of the Holy Virgin’s regarding the nature of her work as Minister of Immigration and Expatriate Affairs.
