The New Urban Communities Authority has allocated 31.65 feddans of land in Aswan for the Magdi Yacoub Foundation (MYF) to establish an international centre for cardiac diseases and research. The land is comprised of 9.35 feddan plot that had previously been allocated to the MYF, in addition to another 22.3 feddans which have been allotted to Aswan governorate but have now been re-allocated to MYF. One feddan is equal to 4200 sq.m.
Founded in 2009 by renowned Egyptian-born cardiologist and surgeon Sir Magdi Yacoub, the MYF is an Egyptian NGO that offers top-class medical services to heart patients of all ages in Egypt and the region.
