In tandem with the media campaign “Kifaya 2”, literally “Two is Enough”, that raises awareness on the need for family planning to harness population growth, Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali today opened the newly-renovated Reproductive Health Training and Research Institute of the Egyptian Family Planning Association.
Kifaya 2 was launched in May 2018 to propagate the State’s strategy in population control. The media campaign is a joint endeavour between Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population and the USAID.
The newly opened institute plays an important role in training workers in the fields of population, reproductive health and family planning. It was established in 1972 as the first training centre of its kind, and has contributed to improving family planning services in Egypt.
