Following the successful 2019 medical convoy that Aswan University sent to Djibouti in partnership with the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the University’s Faculty of Medicine is planning to dispatch a medical convoy from its urology department to Tanzania next July.
According to Muhammad Zaki Dahshour, Dean of the Faculty, Tanzania is holding next July in the city of Zanzibar a surgery camp where incoming patients will be examined and will undergo necessary surgeries. Free medications will be given to those who will need them. Dr Dahshour said that the Tanzanian Ministry of Health had extended an invitation to Aswan’s Faculty of Medicine to contribute in this medical camp from 22 to 30 July 2021.
Aswan’s medical convoy to Tanzania is expected to perform a number of intricate surgeries in various deformities of the urinary tract, especially concerning congenital deformities in children. The medical convoy will include a delegation of the best doctors in Aswan’s Faculty of Medicine.
